When Lulu discovers a mysterious ball of rainbow yarn that seems to have a mind of its own, she embarks on a chase through the living room, under the sofa, and into a world of tangled wonder. Along the way she learns that some things are worth chasing even when you never quite catch them.
A moonlit open window leads Lulu into a hidden garden where the flowers glow softly and the fireflies tell stories. She befriends a tiny cricket named Crumble and together they search for the legendary Silver Daisy, a flower that grants one wish to any cat brave enough to find it.
A tuna sandwich vanishes from the kitchen counter and Lulu is the prime suspect. Determined to clear her name, she turns detective, interrogating a skeptical houseplant and a very unhelpful goldfish. The truth is twistier than anyone expected.
A delivery arrives and with it, the most magnificent cardboard box Lulu has ever seen. She declares it her fortress, her spaceship, and her throne room. But when the box is too big to fit through the door, Lulu must engineer a solution worthy of her finest whiskers.
Lulu falls asleep and dreams she is flying through a sky full of glittering stars, each one a tiny cat with its own purr. She learns that every star in the sky is the dream of a cat somewhere on Earth, and that her own purr is what keeps the brightest one shining.
